Meetha Bhaat

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Tulsi Joha Rice
  • 2 Tbsp Homemade Cow Ghee
  • Saffron strands (Kesar)
  • 3-4 Cloves
  • 1 Tbsp Cardamom Powder
  • 5-6 Almonds (Chopped)
  • 5-6 Pistachio (Chopped)

Cooking Procedure

  • Rinse the Rice well to clean it from any impurities and let is soak in water for 15 minutes.
  • Heat ghee in a pan, add cloves, and let them crackle.
  • Add 1 1/2 cups of water and half cup Tulsi Joha Rice and bring it to boil, reduce the heat to low and cover.
  • In another pan, boil sugar with 1/2 cup water until sugar melts.
  • Add saffron and partially cooked rice to the sugar mixture. Cook until water evaporates.
  • Garnish with chopped almonds, pistachios, cardamom powder and saffron strands.
